Semana 61!!!

WOW this week was a great!!! Lucy was able to enter into the waters of baptism and it was such a sweet baptism!!! she said that she felt "bien contenta y satisfecha!" after the baptism and she was also able to be confirmed on sunday!!

We also were able to start teaching this lady named Nancy and her 13 year old son Abdiel!!! We taught them the restoration and invited them to be baptized once they come to know its true and they accepted! It was an awesome lesson and the spirit was so strong!!! He invited us to his birthday party so we swung by to say hi and to make sure they could come to church!!! They are so excited about this gospel and i know that it can and WILL bless their lives!!!

We also stopped by Jose's this week cause hes been having a rough time, and we sat down and he says... "i was reading in Alma 7 the other day and it talks about how Jesus died for us and that we need to repent and be baptized and that there is NO other way to be saved." So i asked hims "Jose so what do you need to do in order to align your will with the will of Gods?" and he says with No hesitation "get baptized!!!" So he will be picking a date and will be working towards it!!!! It clicked this week with him and it was so amazing to be able to see him realize what he should do!!!! I know the Lord led us to him for a reason and that he will be able to be baptized and enter into Gods fold!!!

We have seen so many miracles and its just amazing to see how the Lords hand is in EVERY step of our lives!!

We also had a BUNCH of rain storms this week so we got soaked more than 10 times.... it was fun though and we worked though it! and also.... theres been like 5 earthquakes here.. 2 big ones!! but we have been asleep for every single one and haven't felt a thing!!:(

Oh and we got transfer calls last night and Hermana Cantu will be leaving to Mayaguez and Hermana Boston who lives with us will now be my companion!!! im super excited and this next transfer is going to be AMAZING!!!! Love you all and have a great week!!!!

Semana 60!!!

This week was decent!!! So much to do and not enough time to do it all!!! We found ourselves going to appointments and no one would be home and thats a normal thing here in Puerto Rico and im sure all around the world.. But it seemed like every appointment we had with anyone we are teaching fell through!!! But we talked to everyone and found some more people to teach:)

We also almost ran over a baby kitten, so we brought it to the animal shelter near by.  It was cool to be able to talk to the people at the shelter and turns out one of them is a member he just hasnt come to church in a while!!!

We also were able to visit a lot of members and teach them the lessons that we teach to our friends that we teach and its been super awesome to help them remember their conversion and have the desire to share it with others!!

We are still working a lot with Lucy and Jose and Lucy is progressing really well towards baptism and Jose just has a lot of health issues going on and is just really sad, but we are going to keep working with him and help him thorough these hard times!!

And Yesterday! (sunday) Was my companions (Hermana Cantus) Birthday so me and the ward threw her some cute surprise parties!!!! So that was super fun to be able to celebrate!!!

Not much else happened this week but it was a good one!!:) and sorry if this email doesnt make sense i dont have alot of time!!

Semana 59!!!

WOW this week was full of miracles!!!

on Wednesday we had zone conference with 2 of the 70's!! Elders Alonso and Alvarado and they had so much advice and councils on what we can do to better our missionary work and our effectiveness!! they made us some cool promises also!! they told us that this mission can not only double our current baptism numbers but also TRIPLE them!!

then that evening we left and went contacting, we went a different way than we usually do and it was the Lords hand because we met this lady named Kathy!! she invited us over to her house and on Saturday we went over and taught her and her 4 KIDS lesson one and they loved it!! it was such a sweet miracle!!:)

Then on Friday we had to wake up at 4 am to drive to Bayamon for the Missionary leadership council and Elder Alonso and Alvarado were there again and they did some training on how to contact better and showed us how important it is to ask inspired questions but to also be bold and persistent!!! I really did learn SO much!!  This mission is going to grow!!

One of the best things i heard this week was when elder Alvarado told us what President Nelson said when he came to Puerto Rico last September.  As he was sitting there in the theater looking out at thousands of puerto ricans on the edge of his chair and heard the words "these people are ready more than ever for a temple" and then shortly after was the Puerto Rico San Juan temple announced.  This really is the MOST important work in the world right now and we ALL have the opportunity to share it!!!

There is so much more i would LOVE to write but i dont have the time and im sure this is long enough!!! Lets just say that our God is a God of LOVE and a God of MIRACLES!!!! Lets never forget that!

Love you all have a great week!!!

Semana 58!!!

This week was awesome!!! We found 3 really cool new people to teach!!!
So a neighbor of a member texted us saying she didn't know how to pray and wanted to learn, she is 37 and a school teacher and had just gotten out of a bad relationship, so of course we went over to her house and started to share our message, she has SO many questions but is SO eager to understand and learn more about God!!! I shared Mosiah 24:13-15 with her when we introduced the Book of Mormon and she looked up and said "wow this book really does apply to our lives, LOOK! that is just what i needed!" We then asked when we could come back, and she said "Tomorrow, Friday Saturday and Sunday i don't have anything!" So we went back the next day and shared the plan of salvation! And we only got to our life here on earth because she just wants to learn and know everything!!!! She was a huge miracle and its so amazing to study so hard in the morning to try and prepare myself for all of her questions!!!

Also this week I went on exchanges with Hermana Boston!!! We had a packed day! We were able to visit Jose, and he was really down... We didn't know why so we started talking to him and asking what was up.  and he says "my baptism is supposed to be on the 14th, but thats the only day that the doctors have free to do surgery on my bladder..."So i looked at him and said, so what are you gonna do to make sure you can still make this commitment with God?!"and he goes, "hmm how about we just do it the next weekend!!!" It was really amazing to see his excitement and faith to be able to set his own date!

Also a member texted us one morning asking is we could go to a service project where they were collecting clothes and food for the Bahamas after the hurricane, so we were able to go meet some cool people and also package food and clothes for the bahamas!!! (and put some pamphlets in the boxes so they could read about God in such a rough time!)

Well that was my week!!! Love you all and thanks for all you do!!!

Semana 57!!!

Well this week started out crazy, on Sunday we were told a hurricane was heading towards our tiny island who is still recuperating from Hurricane Maria. Now hurricanes here are no joke, so every Puerto Rican went and filled up their gas tank and bought all the water! The gas stations were out of gas and the stores were out of water!  On Wednesday morning, the day the hurricane was supposed to hit, the governor asked that all citizens stay inside for the day to stay away from harm. So we got a text from the Mission President asking us all to do as the governor said and to stay inside also.  So we had a full day, and couldn't do any work outside.  We were able to study a lot and catch up on house work, but after a couple of hours we had nothing to do so we had dinner at a house and watched a movie about the pioneers! The hurricane luckily didn't hit us and went right around Puerto Rico!! We were only hit with some heavy winds and rains! We were lucky!!!

We were able to meet up with Jose this week and we taught him the Word of Wisdom, and he says "well I guess I'll have to throw my coffee away!!" It was so awesome to see how quickly he was to accept it and not even ask questions! Same this happened later in the week when we taught him the Law of Chastity!!! His faith is growing so much and it really is amazing to see.

Well that was about it from this week!!! I sure do LOVE this gospel and the opportunity that i have to share it!!!!
