Semana 39! Aibonito

This week went by really really fast!

We had a zone meeting discussing the plans for may and how we are going to working harder and more efficient as a zone! The leaders gave us this paper of finding bingo,  with 25 squares each one having a different type of person. For example... Washing their car, found after 8pm, a member referral, ect. The winner of this bingo gets cookies from the mission presidents wife.  So my companion and i have been working super hard to win!! and we will let you know next week how it goes;)

Also I went on exchanges with the STL and I went to Humacao, another city nearby and i was with hermana davis! shes super sweet, and we had a cool expirence! We were teaching this guy named ethan, we taught him the 10 commandments and after asked him to pick a date in may to be baptised and we were able to promise him blessings according to his needs, he felt the spirit really strong and will hopefully be getting baptized in may!!!

We have been contacting this week using just the book of mormon and it has been super cool to be able to see people change and become so interested when we tell them we have more!! Another testament of Jesus Christ!!! being a missionary is the BEST!!!

Well thats it! I loooooooooooove you all and have a great week!

Semana 38!! Aibonito

This week was an awesome week!! Here this whole week is called "la semana santa"or the holy week, they don't have school and a lot of people are out of town, so that was sad but was super good!!

We were asked by an inactive member to help her clean her house and of course we said yes! We got there ready to wipe down some windows with Clorox Wipes and sweep the floors but.. were we wrong. We got there and she told us to push all the furniture aside, she dragged in the garden hose (which has about as much power as a fire hose) and we hosed down her house, scrubbed the walls with a broom, and then swept the water out!

We also were able to get in with this lady named Anangeli that we have been trying to teach for awhile!!!! She invited us over on friday and when we got there, her, her mom, sister and daughter all sat down on the couch ready to listen to our message!! We shared a video called Mountains to Climb and testified about the atonement and how Christ didn't just suffer for our sins but also every feeling, weakness, sadness and hurt we would feel in this life, it was a very tender moment and we all had tears in our eyes. The spirit was very strong, we are hoping to go back and teach them and that they will start progressing soon!!!

Also, my comp and I were trying to make some sandwiches and the toaster oven caught on FIRE, so that was fun! I'll attach some pictures!

Semana 37! Aibonito

Wow this week was amazing!!!!! Full of so many miracles!!

We had a really cool experience this week! We were asked to come to a man house after he called us, he said that his son had cancer and that he needed us to come over and pray. So we walked the 4 miles to his house! When we got there he gladly let us in and took us to his sons room. His son has neck and throat cancer and hasn't been able to get out of bed for almost a month. We got to know him and his family (mom and dad) and then asked if we could sing them a song. We sang them "Nearer my God to Thee" and finished as the spirit filled the room. Then we prayed that his son would have a relief of pain and feel his Heavenly Fathers love for him. We left and the dad met us outside where he thanked us and tried to give us an envelope with money in it. We told him no and explained that we have set apart this 18 months in our lives for the Lord and we do not accept any money. The dad had tears fill his eyes as he explained that in the past week, they have had 17 different missionaries, pastors, and preachers in their house to try to give their son even a little but of relief from his pain... and we were the first ones to reject the money. At that exact moment, his son walked out of his room and walked outside to enjoy some fresh air... after being bed ridden for over a month..... His dad told us this is the first time he has felt well enough to even move and he knows it was because of us and the spirit we brought into his home. He asked what was different about us and we explained about the Priesthood and the Holy Spirit. We asked him if we could return the next week with our Branch President to give his son a Priesthood blessing.

We also had an amazing day at church yesterday! alot of our investigators came and it was fast and testimony meeting which means the congrigation, have the opprotunity to go up and bear their testimony if they would like, every single one of the people we had there said they felt something different!!! It truly was a miracle!!

Also transfer news came in and HERMANA SCHAERRER AND I will be staying here in aibonito for the next 6 weeks!!! She is now the longest companion i have ever had;) haahh!!

Semana 36!!! Aibonito

WOW this week was insane!!!! I can't remember much that happened except for Wednesday cause it was the CRAZIEST DAY EVER!!!! Well my companion and I were looking for an inactives house, and we got lost for 2 hours while looking for it, we turned down this one road to find that it was a dead end, so we promptly turn back and head back from where we came from!! Then we heard vicious barking. Usually, when we hear barking we keep going and they (the dogs) bark at our ankles and we move on. NOT THIS ONE! A big  rottweiler came up, PASSED MY COMPANION, bit my calf, and ran away!.... I was like what the?!?! hahaha luckily it only left a few tooth marks and didnt take my whole leg with it:) thanks for your prayers:)

Then later that day after we got me all figured out we had mutual, an activity with the youth in the branch!!! And a some of our youth brought their friends!! and this kid named joshua liked it so much that he told his family how much he liked mutual and hwo he felt and they love that we are so centered on famlies so him and his family will be coming to church this week!! keep them in your prayers:)!!!

General conference was so amazing, one of my (very many) favorite talks was given by Elder Mckay, he talked about how when we pray for specific things to heavely father, sometime they dont come as quickly as we want, but something that ALWAYS comes quickly is immediate goodness, meaning comfort, trust, joy, love and more!!!

We all pray for things and sometimes we get frustrated when we dont see the immediate blessings!! but let me tell you something, there may not be immediate blessings, but there is always immediate goodness!!! Sometimes our wishes arent what the Lord has in mind for us and thats okay! He loves us and knows what is best for us and what we NEED!! thats more important! so if youre having a tough time, just look for the immediate goodness cause its always there!!

I love you all and i hope you have a great week!!!

Semana 35!!! Aibonito

MARTIN WAS BAPTIZED! He came out of the water with the biggest smile on his face, and the next day in church when he received the Holy Ghost he said he felt like he was on a cloud and was perfectly content! After he was baptized he bore his testimony and said that he finally knows Christ after searching for Him his entire life

This week was the craziest week of my entire life...
Monday: Our car got stuck in a pharmacy parking lot in a different city than where we live... 40 minutes away by car
Tuesday: We taught Martin the Word of Wisdom and he accepted!!!
Friday: Was zone conference and me and my comp had to give a training and our branch President called and asked us to give talks on Sunday
Saturday: The Baptism of Martin!
Sunday: Was the confirmation of Martin and we gave talks! (I spoke for 25 minutes in Spanish...the gift of tongues is real:)) And a part member family we have been working with came to church!!! also we walked 4 miles in the pouring rain and my hymn book and Spanish scriptures are DESTROYED :(

!!! SO BUSY!!! but so many blessings!! We are working our tails off and seeing miracles!!!
I Love it out here in our little town!!

I am so pumped for General Conference this weekend and to hear from our Prophet and Apostles!!!

Have a great week!!!
